High VRAM Usage
The client stutters or crashes with an out-of-video-memory error when using high-resolution texture packs. The GPU does not have enough VRAM to hold textures that large. This is a client-side problem.
Lỗi này có nghĩa là gì?
Textures are stored in GPU video memory (VRAM). Very high-resolution packs (512x and up) consume far more VRAM than default 16x assets. When VRAM fills, rendering fails or the game crashes.
Out of video memory
Nguyên nhân phổ biến nhất
- A 512x or higher resolution texture pack.
- A GPU with limited VRAM.
- Shaders on top of high-res textures multiplying VRAM use.
- Very high render distance increasing the texture working set.
- Multiple heavy packs stacked together.
Cách chẩn đoán
- Note the pack resolution you are running.
- Check your GPU's available VRAM.
- Test with a lower-resolution pack to confirm.
- Watch VRAM usage with a monitoring tool while playing.
Các cách khắc phục được đề xuất
- Lower the resolution
Switch to a 128x or 256x pack to fit comfortably within your VRAM. - Reduce render distance
A smaller render distance lowers the texture memory footprint. - Drop heavy shaders
Disable or lighten shaders that compound VRAM usage. - Upgrade the GPU
For permanent high-res use, a GPU with more VRAM is the real fix.
Câu hỏi thường gặp
No, texture rendering and VRAM are entirely client-side.
128x-256x suits most GPUs. 512x+ needs a card with generous VRAM.
Yes, significantly, especially combined with high-resolution textures.
